DIY Spa Chronicles: Bananas & Cream Facial Mask

You can eat bananas for your overall health and topically apply bananas to your skin to help in resolving various skin problems such as ingrown hair, pimples, dry skin and wrinkles.

Banana facials soothe, hydrate nourish and moisturize the skin because they contain large amounts of magnesium, potasium, zinc, iodine, iron vitamins a, b. e and folic acid all of which are good for your skin. Vitamin A helps rid dark spots, blemishes and rough skin caused by ingrown hairs and pimples. Vitamin B helps delay the aging process and moisturizes and brightens skin. Vitamin E is the protector, it combats free radicals and prevents the appearance of wrinkles. Potassium hydrates and moisturizes your skin cells thereby getting rid of dry skin.

Bananas are a gentle exfoliator which protects our skin from free radicals, therefore delaying the aging process. It helps tighten skin and with the addition of cream, whether it be light or heavy cream, this kind of at home mask is sure to excite your skins senses.

It takes less than 5 minutes to make and is only good for immediate use. A person with dry skin may use this mask as often as they like, while a person with environmentally damaged, mature skin would want to stick to around 2-3 times a week.

Prepare and Apply:


Small bowl and fork, or if you're a more advanced kitchen junkie a mortar and pestle would be perfect.


1 oz of ripe banana

light or heavy crean


Because this mask has the potential to be a runny mess, tie hair back and be sure to protect clothing. Mash banana with just enough cream until a smooth spreadable paste forms. Using yoour fingers apply to lower neck line, throat and face and recline for 30 minutes binge sure to recline as mask will not harden. Rinse and follow with moisturizer.
