There has been so much buzz surrounding a recently popularized, cultural traditional practice called yoni steaming and its possible benefits that I had just had to give it a try.
I have to admit that in my personal experience, it has been everything the internet has been saying it is!
So what exactly is it? Yoni steaming is a ritual cleanse for a woman using herbs that have been used for centuries to strengthen the female systems. The cleanses are done for multiple reasons in a woman's life, such as cleansing after menstraution or childbirth.
The instructions have been passed down verbally in families across the globe for generations and is still being practiced ritually in families today. ithas bcome so popular and trandy that they have kits on Etsy to build your own seat, and Amazon has ready to go seats!
So are you ready to give it a try?
Even though I now swear by at home yoni steams, I also recommend that if you are pregnant you should definitely consult a professional before use.
But if you’re going give it a go, here’s how: I usually set my herbs up and then hop in the shower for a quick cleansing meditation and ritual and when I get out, my herbs and blanket and everything is already ready for me to enjoy for another 20 minutes turning yet another basic shower into a spa like experience.
Add a cup of your herbs to a large stockpot (large enough to fit inside of your toilet without tipping over) of boiling water.
Let the herbs steep for a few minutes allowing the boiling temperatures to cool.
Remove your clothes from the waist down. (I'm usually naked because I just got out the shower)
Place my stockpot in the toilet and then stand over or sit on the toilet (sitting is best). Ifyou have one of those portable seats that they use in the hospital or in home care setting, use that. that's what I use.
Wrap a towel around your waist and legs to prevent the steam from escaping. I use a blanket, and cover my whole body from the neck down. Relax and enjoy for 20 minutes or longer.
